Help us continue to present the Future of art

End of Year fundraising Campaign

Boston Cyberarts has always championed the artists, technologists, and creative thinkers shaping the future of creative innovation. Since the passing of our founder and director, George Fifield, in November 2022, we have navigated tremendous change. Thanks to the dedication of our board of directors, volunteers, partners, and supporters, we continue to move forward with purpose.

Great news!

Our board has offered to MATCH all donations made from Giving Tuesday through January 31st. This means that if you did not have a chance to make a donation for Giving Tuesday, you can still make a difference towards our end of year fundraising campaign!

We would like to offer an optional gift of a vintage Boston Cyberarts Festival t-shirt for all donations over $100.00, while supplies last! (This will also apply retroactively to those that donated on Giving Tuesday.)

To claim your gift, email valerie@bostoncyberarts.org with your t-shirt size and top 3 choices of festival years from 2003, 2007, 2009, and 2011. Gallery pick up and USPS flat rate shipping is free (additional fees may apply for international shipments).

Note: 2001 and 2005 t-shirts are in short supply, though feel free to reach out if you are interested in making a larger donation for a chance to receive one of these shirts!

What we’ve accomplished together

Expanding community learning & youth programs

Over the past three years, we’ve continued to support emerging creative talent throughout Boston:

  • Three successful summers of our fully funded Game Development Workshop for local high-school students, featuring field trips, professional development talks, and hands-on game creation.

  • Our most recent cohort resulted in three students’ games being showcased in a professional gallery exhibition.

  • Continued support of student-run shows such as Fresh Media (MassArt/Berklee), Spark* (Northeastern), and Education in the Museum Space (Northeastern).

  • A commitment to offering students professional space, equipment, and mentorship to debut new work.

Innovative Exhibitions & New Partnerships

  • Collaborated on Public Processes with the Boston Public Art Triennial.

  • Ongoing collaboration with events like WaveForms, and organizers such as Alpha 60 and Transporter.

  • Co-presented the Boston Immersive Music Festival with Bill Sebastian, receiving coverage on WBUR.

  • Launched CyberFrames, a game-themed window series curated by new Gallery Director Valerie Guinn Polgar, followed by her second curated show, Stationed: A Response to a Climate of Restraint. These overlapping exhibits featured work by 50+ local and international artists, bringing new collaborators and audiences to the gallery.

Growing Our Organization & Looking Ahead

  • Welcomed Valerie Guinn Polgar as our new Gallery Director, who is developing exhibitions and events through Spring 2027.

  • Began planning a 1999–2025 archival project to make our quarter-century of digital art activity accessible to artists and researchers.

  • Designing a new educational space in the front of the gallery where local artists and creators can host community workshops.

Why your support matters

Boston Cyberarts operates without a private funding agency. We rely on a mix of state support, foundation funding, and — most critically — the generosity of our community.

Your support sustains innovative, experimental art in Boston and ensures that future generations of creators have a place to learn, experiment, and grow.

  • Do you have fond memories of Boston Cyberarts festival, exhibits, events, or public art projects, such as Art on the Marquee or the Greenway AR sculptures?

  • Did George or Boston Cyberarts help support you as an artist or curator?

  • Do you want to see new and emerging works exhibited in a free space?

  • Or any other reason you can think of?

If you said YES to any of the above - we invite you to make a contribution through January 31st!
